Today’s data-driven digital economy requires all employees, even non data scientists, to have a data science mindset.
From 12:30-1:00pm, Tianhui Michael LiPhD, founder of The Data Incubator, will be keynoting on “Building a Data Science Mindset.”
Michael will delve into business case studies from successful clients who have successfully leveraged data science, as well as how misadoption has lead to well-known public failures.
These include lessons that even data scientists commonly get wrong and the importance of adopting the right data science mindset throughout the organization.
Finally, he’ll draw on his experiences working with corporate clients to give best practices when founding Data Science Centers of Excellence that drive grassroots data science mindset adoption.
Michael has worked in data science at Foursquare, Google, A16Z, NASA, JP Morgan, and D.E. Shaw. He is a Hertz, NSF, and Marshall Scholar, and is an alumnus of Princeton and Cambridge.
The Data Incubator is an education startup training STEM PhDs to be data scientists and quants, and providing on-site data science training for companies and government agencies.
From 13:00 – 13:30, Rajesh Anandan (CEO of ULTRA Testing & SVP at UNICEF Ventures) and Topher Wurts (Founder at Autism Village) will keynote on “Neurodiversity: The New Competitive Advantage.“
The diversity of human minds can be a powerful asset in every industry, and tapping into the strengths of autistic individuals can produce extraordinary results. Our differences, far from needing to hold us back, can propel us forward to better ideas, better results and better organizations.
This interactive session will explore the potential for neurodiversity to boost the performance of digital teams and also suggest ways of accessing this community to recruit new talent.
